Cookie Consent Banner
Also known as: cookie banner, cmp
The pop-up asking permission to set cookies, required in jurisdictions like the EU and UK.
Under GDPR and ePrivacy, sites that use non-essential cookies must obtain informed, freely-given consent before setting them. Cookie banners are the user-facing implementation of that requirement.
In practice, most banners use dark patterns to nudge users toward 'Accept all'. Privacy tools can auto-reject these banners (or simply hide them) so users don't have to navigate the friction repeatedly.
